you can make those borders with either the pencil tool, or ! lasso tool with antialiasing off!!!! and then stroke it 1 px and those holes and stuff are just where people cut stuff out with lasso tool :D

Well you can find out how to make those borders and shapes with these two sites: http://robouk.mchost.com (check out his pixel borders Photoshop tutorial) http://www.eyeball-design.com (Check out his interface designs. He shows you how to make those non-square shapes.) If you want to know maybe a little about the background - search Photoshop Crystals on this forum and play with that a bit. Also do a search for Anime and also check the tutorial site on teamphotoshop for how to extract images. That should be plenty to get you started on. Just remember this isnt something you can learn overnight, but start messing with some tutorials and you will be headed in the right direction. If you get stuck on something we can help you out. |

umm...i use polygon lasso tool for those type of things i think it's much easier than using the pencil tool...which i can't quite see. but he did say aa off and it could make straight lines....eh well, i use polygon lasso i think is what it's called. but i r n00b still there's probably a better way.
