Hello again guys/gals, First off, thanks for responses, input. Plz excuse teh noobieness. A few questions about making websites w/ PS mainly. When making a website do you do graphics w/ PS and then go to Image ready? 1)How do you know how to size tool bars, text bars ect. Can this all be done as if on a full screen browser ? 2)When you get all of the graphics done, how do you put them all into a website? Do you guys use other programs such as Dreamweaver mx? 3)What exactly are Macromedia's coldfusion and fireworks used for? IE: dreamweaver is for web design 4)Am I right in assuming that PS image ready is for websites mainly? 5) what are the best books for photoshop (my focus will be on website design) would you guys reccommend? thx again guys |

Yes, make your graphics in Photoshop then take them to imageready to slice them up and to compress them. The size you would normally want to work with for your design is about 760px wide x 550px tall or so, so that your site will fit in a browser window for someone that has their resolution set at 800 x 600. Most people do use Dreamweaver for actually coding the page. Others use imageready to generate the html, then clean up the code in a plain text editor. others only use a text editor to code the html. Coldfusion is a server side scripting language used to make dynamic pages like shopping carts and other interactive pages. Fireworks is basically like image ready. you use it to compress and animate images for web sites. imageready is mainly used for slicing up graphics for web sites, and making animated GIFs. for books, check out www.friendsofed.com they have lots of great books on all different aspects of photoshop. |

Well Image Ready and Photoshop are complimentary plus you don't have to pay extra for IR, so go with Image Ready.
