I'm looking for two tutorials really. 1. A way to make a Biohazard Symbol. and 2. How to make it so that it looks like there is a light behind it, so light is shining through all the openings of hte symbol. I am farely decent with photoshop, yet these forums seem way above my skill level. So any laymen's terms tutorials or info would be best. Thanks! |

laymen's terms. Biohazard symbol is easy, just look for a dingbat font. There're a bunch of links to font sites in the Resources section. |

Fixed the spelling. I thought it was speled wrong, just didn't know how to spell it right. sorry But really, I'm looking for a way to make my own biohazard... one, because I've looked through hundreds of fonts and am unable to find one that has a biohazard symbol in it and 2, i want to be able to make it more customizable. |

1. Go to Google Image Search. Advanced settings. Choose either large or wallpaper sized. Find the the symbol you want. 2. Copy and paste it into PS. Size it to fit your needs. 3. Double click on the layer that it's in (on the layers palette), and choose outer glow. Play around with the settings. 4. Voila! |

ok, I'm not in a position to test this - I'm at work without photoshop, but try this. Make the biohazard symbol you want and hide the layer - you won't need this for a bit. make a circular gradient from white at the middle fading out to black at the edge. Over this, lay a sillhouette of the biohazard symbol you used, so it looks like a black shape over a white circle. Merge these two layers. Use filters like the zoom motion blur on the roughest setting and extrude with random heights, blur it all up a bit and colour the layer. Finally place and merge the same sillhoutte over again to sharpen the necessary edges. When you're happy with this 'light' layer, make the original shape visible again, then lay the 'light' layer over the top and change the blending mode to suit your taste. |

Maybe making a starburst? Try to describe a little more of what kind of light effects ya want.
