Good evening all. Via Actions, the Sphere filter, and a great original earth pic , I've generated a 352 layer file of the earth spinning. Each layer shows the earth from a slightly different angle. WIth lighting effects and all, it's pretty cool. Now I want to export it to 352 (alpha-channel-enabled) .png files for inclusion ito a Director program. (A simple GIF animation using ImageReady leaves fringing.) I cannot figure out how to create the separate files except via by hand. Any ideas? Mike |

I tried a few things for you, new guy... with ps7, you can do a few more cool tricks while creating actions than I was aware of in v6, including 'insert menu item' - now, until there is a command available for 'move to the layer below the selected layer' - I'm afraid that you might have to do the nasty stuff. try to do as much of the alpha channel stuff with an action, is all I can tell you. That, and make a fresh pot of coffee, bro. good luck, sorry I couldn't help more. Keep us posted on what turns up. graphicsguy |

Howdy, What turned up last night at 2am was JASC Paint Shop Pro's Animation program. It let me import a PSD, then send out the frames as PNGs. However this was not as easy as it sounds: PSP can only read 100 layers, so I had to split my orginal file into four files and process them one at a time. Then the export didn't preserve the alpha channel, so I had to take the resulting 350 files back into PhotoShop and kill the background around my globe. Whew. Mike |
