Align multiple layers?

I have a bunch of layers I would like to align on thier left edge.

is this possible? How do I select each layer?

Link the layers in the Layers Palette. One layer will be highlighted, and will show the little "brush" icon next to the eyeball icon; and the rest will have "chainlink" icons.

With your Move Tool (V) chosen, look at the Options Bar. Click on the "Align Left Edges" icon. If you want them all to snap to the left side of your document window, select all (Command/CTRL-A), then click the "Align Left Edges" button up top.
