I created some graphics for a website and selected save for web (jpg). The first thing I noticed is the colors are much darker than the .psd file.

Why does this happen and is there a fix for it?

Thanks

I would have to see the actual graphics to make a specific recommendation, but here's some good basic information for understanding when to use .jpg vs. .gif, etc.

You probably just need to turn off color management. Shift + CTRL + K. Set the color management at the top to Off.

either turn OFF color management or actually set it up... i used kinda have this problem, when saving for the web images turned up very red and dark... i just downloaded the icc profile for my monitor from the maker (of my monitor) and use that and its fine now....

Save all your stuff from ImageReady. It offers a lot more control than Save For Web. It takes a little longer, but I think it's worth it.

Preview right in ImageReady using both Mac and Windows gamma range. Adjust Gamma as necessary. Check in the browser(s) of your choice.
