colour calibration

Hi

How can I calibrate my monitor so that the photographic images I see on the screen matches what comes out of the printer.
Have tried Photoshops monitor calibration.
and have tried adjusting the the image's colour to match the print out
The photographic images are in CMYK

please help

It's driving me crazy!

If you make print-out from your inkjet printer, try printing the image in RGB mode... sometime it will look closer to the moniter than when you change the mode to CMYK! (this is very true on lower price printer)

its a very exact science. Your monitor displays in RGB (which is an additive mode I think) and your printer prints in CMY (possibly CMYK - depends on the printer). I'm no expert in colour, but I imagine if you switch between the modes to test your image before printout, it will be aparent if you're using any out-of-gamut colours.
