I have an image that I need to simulate an explosion. I want it to literally explode it into a fireball and then disappear. Maybe show pieces lying on the simulated ground. Any examples of something like this. Thanks for any advice |

hmmmmm.....you could do it manually....thats about it. photoshop doesn't have any filters to explode objects. fireballs will be hard to re-create.....and debris effects can be achieved by cutting little sections off the first image and moving them around

Go to Adobe Studio Exchange. I know they have some explosion actions there. Basically the actions consist of massive amounts of filters.

i think you should look up the word literally and if you want anything to move... photoshop is not your program, unless you wanna do every frame then make it a gif try an animation program |

Boy, you guys are funny today. Thanks to those that gave some ideas. Anyone else have any other ideas or recommendations on what software to use to get the desired effect? |

I tried to build a tutorial last year to create explosion images. Essentially it used ocean ripple, blur, and the index color>black body color table. Check the tutorials section, but bear in mind that it's untested and clumsily written. |
