Hello, I have created a letterhead and a logo for a website by cutting out images from a high res. jpg file. I have two questions... 1. in the letterhead how cam I make it better eye appealing? also if you noticed it seems the world is tilted on the right... how can i fix that? 2. on the image logo, how can i make it better eye appealing... click here to see the files. PS. the original .jpg file is resized. thanks |

1) I don't see a world in the letterhead, so I don't really know what you mean. To change the shape of something, use the tools under edit>transform. To make it more eye appealing, choose more contrasting colours that would look good on a letter. For a complex design like the logo you've made, black and white might look good. 2) Clean and sharpen the image properly (play around with unsharp mask / levels a bit), and consider recolouring it to be more eye-catching. I'd also consider removing the dark background so the image stands out a little. Just some suggestions - hope it helps. |

Best suggestion: Redo everything using vectors, either in Illustrator (preferred) or in Photoshop. Anything less than that would brand your work as that of a rank amateur. |

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will edit the images as you said and try to come up with something nice... i'll upload those images for u to see what i did! BTW: Utopian23, i'm not exactly sure of how to use vectors bc when i started cropping those two images out of the .jpg file i didn't make sure or more precise, i don't know how to go about making sure i'm using vectors in photoshop 7. Would you please explain to me what vectors are and how to use them? thanks |

yeah, go with utopian, almost all logos are done in vector format (illustrator, flash, etc.) for a reason. They are scalable without any degradation of quality

if you make your selections with a lasso tool or some other kind of tool and then paste that selection in photoshop onto a new shape layer, then you can define it as a custom shape that can be used over and over again with the custom shape tool i do believe
