Putting text on a image thats 3d. |

Putting text on a 3d object, I followed a tutorial to make a golfball and I did it successfully but now I want to make text that looks like its printed on teh ball...any ideas? |

Use the render>3d transform filter on some rasterized text to make it look like it's on a sphere. Also, you can use the transform text options, but they aren't always perfect for things like this. Once you've decided on how to 3D-ise the text, you might want to desplace it. Ask if you need info on that. |

Yea i need info on displacing it, but will it make the words look like they are printed into the dimples?

Yeah doing a displacement will make the words look like they are actually printed on the ball.

could you post a link for the golfball tutorial? I've got an idea but I don't know if it would work. If the tutorial uses the channels at all, you might be able to use a channel on a text layer with the render>"lighting effects" filter. alternatively, a few layers of differing opacities and blending modes might help |
