You could make one circle(paint it in any color), than another circle on another layer slightly bigger(Color too), then crtl-click on the smaller one(layer) and delete that chunk out of the bigger one. You can also delete the small circle layer now. An easy way, when you have the small one selected, go to modify and make the second one as big as you want(after you have the first one painted in). This way, you don't have to move the bigger circle layer, since it will be in perfect position.

Thx for ur tips Overlord!;-)
The thing is i just want to make little cercle not filled up with any color in order to add it to my patterns...
So i can not apply your method of bgd around..and then erase it
Cuz it has to be on a transparent bgd if i want to make this cercle as a pattern...
It should be a way much easier to make a cercle not filled up with any color...
Any other idea will be welcome;-)

Thx;-)

Pardon me for asking, but how will you get a pattern if it does not have any color?(Note: not really expert on patterns) You can do this with 2 windows, after you delete the small circle layer, you will have one circle with a hole in it. It will be in color, but just press Ctrl and click on the layer, and you will have a selection for the image. Thus, a circle with a hole, just drag it in the transparent window. I'm not a 100% sure on where you are headed, so I don't think I can help much more from here.

use the circle marquee selection tool, make a big circle* then while holding down alt(subtract from selection) drag out a smaller circle in the middle, then youve just got your circle outlined as a path and your free to do whatever you want with it
