use a 1px brush and the pencil. Then draw.
I never quite understood these questions about "tutorials" on pixelart... it's an image drawn with pixels.
If you have an eye for perspective, then just draw, if not, then it's harder. :p

It's nonsense to suggest that pixel art is drawn with a 1px pencil etc.

If you want to make shortcuts etc... Make channels of diagonal lines etc, then you will be able to cut them to fit any situation. Make regular shapes and often used compononents into library items. Shortcuts are the way to a less painless exercise.

no shortcuts indeed! yeah right!! could you imagine wasting so much time laying one pixel down at a time.

I do my pixel art one pixel at a time... Though you can sometimes use a slightly larger brush and stuff i guess. but most of it is one at a time.

Yea.. it's one at a time with a 1px brush and if you get kind of impatient coloring in an area, just bust out the Paintbucket or Marquee.

Not being funny but you are wasting a lot of time if you do it 1px at a time. As I say use channels. Also to shade in areas use levels instead of a darker colour.
