I perused the threads first, just to make sure I wasn't asking this twice. I don't know if anyone is familiar with this, but I'm trying to create a realistic hammered metal effect in photoshop with a blockish yet smooth/worn bevel [which I'm not sure is even possible]. I have only seen this effect created once, and I have no idea how they did it. I'm looking to recreate an effect similar to what is shown on the cover of the AD&D 3rd edition Player's Handbook from Wizards of the Coast. |

Yes, yes! That's it. Do you know how they did that? I tried contacting the artist but he's difficult to find.

umm - here's an idea - get your regular, everyday, rust or metal texture, then add a bit of noise if it's not noisy inuff - then go to Dust and scratches and play a bit there - then perhaps ass some more noise and add your bevels - This is the approach I'd try...
