Hi. I'm fairly decent at PShop. However, it took me a while to obtain version 7. Now that I have it, how do you, when creating new images, make the default width & height equal the same dimensions as the last new image you made? ----------------------------------------------------------- Wait, I figured it out... Alt+Ctrl+N But is there a way that it does that by default, without having to press Alt all the time? (It seems that will prove to be a hard habit to break) |

I create a new document, and even through a relaunch, the "New Document" dialogue opens with my most recent settings. What is happening to you is this: You're making a copying something, and those dimensions get entered into the "New Document" dialogue. What you want to do is Select all, Copy (this is where the full dimensions get entered into the "New Document" dialogue), then CTRL-N will have the full size already entered in the dialogue box. Also, you might want to have a look at THIS>. It's a tutorial that explains how to add your own custom sizes to the menu in the "New Document" dialogue. |

no, I already know from pshop6 that a CTRL+A, CTRL+C, CTRL+N gets the exact dimensions of the image I copied. But I mean, when I want to make a new image after pasting that image, or after a relaunch it's 310x380 every time. It wouldn't do that in PS6, only in PS7 it seems. ps... is that image under your handle adapted from the comic Red Meat? |

Whatever is is you've copied (before you paste, or the last size of any copied selection before you quit hotoshop), the dimensions of that bit are automatically entered in the "New Document" dialogue. If you keep getting 310 X 380, no matter what, something is hosed. Delete your preferences and see if that helps. And yes, that's "Earl" from Red Meat. Hilarious strip. |
