Eye of Sauron

For anyone who has seen Lord of the Rings(which is pretty much everyone) then you know that the Eye of Sauron is that flaming eye type thing. Can anyone give me a tutorial on how to make that eye or something close to it?

Try and find the Ring of Fire post. I just saw it today. You can create the ring of fire in a horizontal oval shape, then put a 3d eye in the center.

Yea, what do you mean by a 3D Eye??? Anyway, that's where i got the idea for the eye of sauron because i made a ring of fire and i cannot think of how to modify it to look like Eye of Sauron so i need more help.
