I can't believe I'm posting in here, I think I'm quite advanced when it comes to photoshop. No, I'm not arrogant, but I've churned out some fairly decent STufF and helped loads of people out with PS. Anyway, what are the differences between the Airbrush and the Paint Brush? Preferably any answers relating to PS6 AND PS7 would be appreciated, because I' still getting to grips with tall of the brush settings in 7, I understand the ones in 6 better. LA! ThanX'n'STufF. |

Ok, I'm not as much of an idiot as I thought, just a bit lazy. I just did some experimentation'n'STufF. I think I know the differences, but answer the question anyway if possible, it might help the newbies. I'd rather not answer, since only realising the different properties of the Airbrush and Paint Brush less than a minute ago, I'm not exactly an authority on them. BYEEEEE!! |

The paint brush always has a fixed size, so even if you turn the opacity down, the brush stroke is always the same size, whereas the airbrush pressure (instead of opacity) determines the size of the stroke. Another difference is that when you click and hold in the same space with the paintbrush, nothing happens after the initial stroke, with the airbrush, the "paint" continues to flow, for a cumulative effect. BYEEEEE!! PS: If I'm wrong about any of this, feel free to correct me, as I've said, I'm no authority on the subject. |

ah...sounds sensible. I tended to avoid the airbrush and as such knew nothing about it...I feel a little silly now. Will play around at home. |

the airbrush really shouldn't be avoided. It's a great tool for highlights etc. It's great for aqua effects
