Im tryin to make a logo for a web site into a vector graphic that i can use with the custom shape tool. I've read at the adobe web site how to do it but there is one catch. When you paste it it says to set it to paste on a new shape layer. I cant seem to make it create a shape layer, only a new one. Can somebody enlighten me?

I don't really understand what you mean (my bad english probably) Too make custom shapes I just make a form with the pen tool with the mode on paths and then I select the entire path and right click it and then define custom shape. |

Mi Lo Fu, try this out: I'm not sure what Adobe says to do, but here's how I make those. 1.get your logo on a new layer - masked out of the bg. 2.make a new document at the size you want your logo to default to. (I usually use .5 in x .5 in at 150 dpi - kind of generic) 3.drag the original logo layer onto your new document - again on it's own layer - resize it if you need to. 4.delete the background layer, (so it's got the checkered grid, i.e. transparent background) 5.select your logo by pressing CTL (Mac-CMD) and clicking on your logo's layer. 6.go to Paths Palette, (little arrow on the top right), and select Make Work Path, and 1.0 tolerance. 7.go under Edit>Define Custom Shape and name it LOGO or whatever you want. You should see it at the end of your shapes drop down menu now. Go crazy with your new custom shape! good luck! graphicsguy |
