Cut and paste the eyes onto a different layer. On another fresh layer choose a large soft airbrush and load it with white (making sure the size is just larger than the eye) cover both eyes with a white cirlce, then choose a smaller brush (about the same size as a pupil) and dab again onto both circles. Set the layer blend mode to soft light and reduce the opacity to suit. Then, mask out the eyeballs using quck mask and feather the selection by .5 - 1. Press Ctrl + U to bring up the hue and saturation and alter the hue gradually, choosing a colour that is natural but different. The look of the eye can be altered by changing the opacity of the white circle highlight layer. |

another way to do it would be to create a new layer above the b/w image, and using the brush tool, color over the eyeball area with whatever color you want (must convert image to rgb of course) then after you brush where you want the color, change the layer mode, found on the layer pallette to "overlay" or something. play around iwth the layer modes, i'm not sure which would work best.

Sorry wasn't paying attention - If you have a B&W image the process is the same but in the hue/saturation box you have to check the colourize box (as you have no colour information to change otherwise) http://www.thehermit.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/eyes.jpg they say a piccies worth a thousand words ;) |
