Could someone look at this image http://www.majintrunks.com/crimson.jpg and plz tell me how to recreate the background? I have looked everywhere and dont know how to do it. The closest I have gotten so far was the 'Enlight Boom' effect, but that doesnt look quite like the image, but it does have the same kind of colors. So could someone plz tell me or link a tutorial up that explains how to do the background of that image?

Go rip someones anime, then go do some trendy tutorials. Or what you could do is experiment and develop your own, respected, style. I think you will get much more of a respone from everyone if you come in showing your work, not asking how to copy someone elses.

prolly made in a 3d program. and spectra...did you learn from tutorials? from other peoples work...? Once you learn how to re-create an effect...you can then make it suit yourself...developing it...and eventually it'll look completely different. Don't be so mean. |

It looks to me like Trendy Crystals x's 1 billion. I did a simple search for Trendy Crystals Photoshop and got this: http://www.google.ca/search?q=Trendy+Crystals+Photoshop&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&meta= So basically if you dont have an expensive 3D prog, you can download a free one or experiment with the photoshop version. Duplicate it a lot, change the size and then use different blending modes to get that bright overlay effect. I wouldnt say there was a particular "technique", it is kind of "grungy", so go to town. |

I think you could make things easier. Try the site www.imagebank.com and search for a nice-resolutioned image that fits what you want. Because creating that bg... ninja quest!

I would like to create the bg myself so I can manipulate it to my needs. Any tutorial would be appreciated or if someone could maybe write a short one? Thanx.

Those crystal tutorials look literally like crystals, which to me does not look like the bg of the image. I am thinking maybe some layers with gausian blurs and color dodging, but I am not sure. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be appreciated.

THis isnt exactly what he/she did, but in a few minutes I came up with this: http://www.mardala.com/john/samp.jpg Basically, make a crystal shape like that one that is in the forfront, then duplicate it a bunch, rotate, shift, blur some, do what ever you want, then work with some layer modes like Color dodge, Screen, etc. |
