I have noticed a lot of sites, including this one tha add that "extra detail." For example on this site it says "Team Photoshop Forum" at the top and the grey bar goes down diaganoly and straightens out for the nav.

There are many sites on templatemonster.com that use techinques like this. I guess I would call it extra shapes? Sorry if I am unclear. I'm looking for somet tips or tutorials on making more detailed web sites.

Yeah I don't really understand what you're asking at all.

You could try right-clicking on pictures and clicking on "View Image" so you can see that image by itself. That will give you a better idea of how the images are pieced together and everything.

I think maybe he is asking where the odd-shaped angled marquee tool is.

JRockFL, I would do a little search on "Interface Design Photoshop" in Google and see what you come up with. Also check our resources section on more Photoshop sites, and also the tutorials on TeamPS. That should give you a start on how to make different shapes for web design. (Eyeball's site comes to mind - http://www.eyeball-design.com/fxzone/frames01.htm - he has some great interface ideas.)

Marble,

Yes you are right. I couldnt really explain it. I just pulled up that eyeball design site. WOW thats very nice.

My guess is that web designers that can create graphics like that on the eyeball site are artistic. Meaning, they can draw. They know about the shadows and highlights...etc...etc..

So when you get someone who is artistic and knows how to use photshop....you get some awesome designs.

Me and the other hand, I cant draw! lol

Well I wouldnt call myself a drawer either =\...
but if you start with some tutorials and get a grip on some technique then you can become webDesignMaster.... Just pick a few tutorials you like and do them, maybe a few times. You get the idea.
