Making good outlines like in stainedglass

Thankyou for seeing this subject. I want to know how to make outline from photograph like in "make your own stained glass"? Because I'd really love to make some testings to a photo I have, but I have to take only the outlines. So, what should I do? How I can do it without looking like a 2-years-old-drawing? Thank you for your attention.

There is a basic filter in psp called "Find Edge",it'll find all the edges of the picture,you can print it out and draw on it,there result must be so good so everyone might think you are the next picaso :D
