I am doing my first illustration with my wacom tablet and I am drawing a bike. I was wondering are there any kind of techniques for drawing spokes? I could do 1 by 1 but it's going to take a very very long time...

Not sure how this is going to help, but Philip's (Eyewoo) site has some neat tutorials for digital drawing - http://eyewoo.com/ndx_tutorial.html

To do spokes of a wheel, I'd just make one spoke, then free transform & duplicate the layer a ton of times. You don't have to make individual spokes. After you duplicate the first spoke, rotate the second & merge the two layers together. Once you do that, repeat the process. Eventually, you'll get a ton of spokes without having to duplicate/rotate much.

I think we need to put these in resources. Here are some links, there are plenty more I know of but these tutorials are hard to find. They're usually about very specific subjects so you won't find anything with google http://www.gorblimey.com/tutorials/  http://div.dyndns.org/EK/tutorial/  http://www.drawthrough.com/tutorials/index.html (be sure to take a look at his work, it's breathtaking) http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=866 http://perso.wanadoo.fr/arth/artisticprocess/process_01.htm http://www.conceptart.org http://www.eatpoo.com http://forums.sijun.com (art forums) http://www.fineart.sk/index.html art reference and complete books of Loomis (anatomy..) http://tiles.ice.org something I amuse me with, you get a border of an image (a tile) and you have to complete it without knowing what tiles are next to you. Good to learn how to paint (I paint with my mouse .) http://tiles.ice.org/user_info.php?id=623661 my profile ;) (notice that I'm an expert :p) |
