Please assist, as I am new to using photoshop...

Please help as soon as possible.. now to all this... will await reply...time now 1:10am est USA...
much thanks,

On the layers pallet you will see a little "lock" icon, just disable that. Also you might want to right click the file and select properties and make sure it is not "read-only".

John...send me one of those templates (only if you can keep it under 2MB), compressed with WinZIP or what-have-you (to prevent file corruption) to PhosphorRemoveThisCrapInRed@usa.com, and I'll figure it out. I live for this type of challenge, so let 'er rip.

Was it you that brought up the same issue at the Adobe Forum? I'm sure I can help, but I'll need to see the actual file, since I've never seen—nor used—any pre–made templates.

Same with me, John..been up since 3:30 am EST...ummm almost 23 hours ago.

John...just checked my email. Yes, I got what you sent, but what I need to look at is the *.psd native file you have. What you sent came across as just a flat 8k +/- image showing all of the table/slice delineations (can't tell which) with generic browser image place-holder icons...certainly that file size is too small to be the original template. You need to ZIP- or Stuff-compress the full, original PSD that you're trying to work with layers—and everything else—intact. Don't worry about sending copies of any fonts...I can work around that, if need be.

Otherwise, I won't be able to help you.

Cheers! Talk to you after a few hours of shut-eye!

First off...Are you on a Mac or a PC? If you mentioned it I don't recall. For native Photoshop files, it's not an issue as they are cross-plaform compatible. Any user shou;ld be able to open any other user's Photoshop files (excluding PS version incompatibilities, of course). The issue I'm addressing is more basic than that.

If PC...you likely have some sort of ZIP-compression utility that came preinstalled or bundled with your box. If Mac (or even a PC), you might have to invest in StuffitDeluxe to compress your file....This a is a product I use all the time, I wholeheartedly endorse and it works like a charm..now available for Windows!!! Yaay! Either way, having a compression utility is something every computer-user needs to own and know how to use. When you can tell me your status with that, get back to me.

Yeah StuffIt rules the zip and sit world. I would recommend that program over WinZip, which you will have to download more than likely (at least on win 2k).
