Hello guys Been a while since I've posted something in here...I have a question...maybe some of you know the answer but I don't :-) I'm in the process of designing a cd and I have 10 layers with type on it. I'd like to know how I can change the font in one layer and automatically adjusts all other layers. Is this possible? I guess it is, now I have to change each layer manually....not very efficient I know :-) Thx in advance, Klaus |

If you take a look at other design software, like Quark or InDesing (or any word precesor), you will see than this is done by changing the style format (I hope you use them..). Here come the problem, Photoshop does not use style... so the answer is no! Even is tool present may look like stlye, ans you get the same effect hen you set type for the fist time, its not really a style... Maybe the next version of Photoshop will use them... |

Hi, i am searching for the answer to this problem for a while and have read, that there is the possibility to write an action or so to solve it...something with programming a small thing to change multiple text layers with one click...but there was no more information. Somewhere else - it is maybe two weeks ago, I have read the answer for this question, allready, it seems to work. But i forgot the place. It had something to do with shortcuts and a speacial click. Maybe you have the answer in meantime? Please post. I will search again now. ps: i am speaking of the Version 7 of Photoshop |

well, if you're doing text on a cd (such as body text, etc.) you should really be using illustrator, tho i suppose ps 7 does have a vector text output option, doesn't it? in illustrator you could simply select everything and just go change the font in the character dialogue box which would change anything containing a typeface to whatever you selected and leave everything else alone. chris |

Guys it IS possible to change all your photoshop text layers in one simple click. You select one of you textlayers, and link the other text layers with it (that need to be changed). Open the character palette for your text. Hold down SHIFT and pick your font out of the pulldown menu. You'll see that all your text layers will change. This works for other options too, like changing the size of your text. Try it, can't fail with this one. |
