Hi guys, I need some help with a scrapbook I'm making. I took some pictures with my digital camera and saved them to my desktop as jpegs. I need to know how to print them in black and white and how to get them to print 4"x6". If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. By the way I have Photoshop 6. You gotta explain it in retarded monkey terms though because I'm not too good with this stuff. Thanks a bunch, merry christmas! |

Well to convert it to "black & white," you'd go to Image > Modes > Grayscale. Assuming you're printing at normal 72ppi (go to Image > Image Size and check the Resolution box), just resize the image to 288x432 (72*4 x 72*6) pixels if possible. Most likely the image dimensions from the Digital camera will be in multiples of 16 (i.e. 1024x768, I'm not too sure on this because I don't own a digicam, I'm a manual user) and it might not become perfectly 288x432 pixels. Then just print away. There's people here who are knowledgable about printing so they might have a better alternative to the preceding. |

well.. its worth noting, that you don't want to print at 72 dpi... it should be 300 Resolution when you goto Images -> Image Size....

I heard somewhere on this forum that it is better to just desaturate your image in stead of converting it to grayscale. Because most printers are specialized for printing in color mode so it is best to print in it.
