How do you make this highlight?

Can anyone tell me how would i go about making this highlight around an image i have like he has on the word Players.....?


You know that black part that fades off in dots.. can someone help me there?

I've done that but with a grid instead of dots i had a white BackGround and black GRID...then i blurred and lightened the grid into the background and messed with the opacity of the outside.

thats cool. Id like to see an example of that to know what you are talkin about more.. but i was really trying to get exactly that same type of effect like a filters around the person :-D.//./ thanx!

That effect is called half tone dots. This is just a quick scan through google and clicked on the first ones that I found so hopefully its all you need =)

Ok cool.. what do you usually type in , in google to find these things? cause man.. i be having trouble.. lol

Actually thats the 'Alien Skin Splat LE (edges)' Filter effect. You can get it for photoshop but its one of the default filters in Fireworks MX.

That particular effect is using the default settings but you can do alot more with that filter.

skettalee : You need to change your sig. Its too big.

That may be the Alien skin effect, but you can get that same effect using just ol' PS without the plugin. Those are half tone dots that he is using.
