Cyan
Magenta
Yellow
BlacK

These are the 4 standard colors that are used in most common printing...Those are the proper names for the individual colors you see when you replace the cartridges in your inkjet printer. These are also the colors that are used on a standard commercial press to print photographic images from separate printing plates.

This may help:

If you wonder,

Yous should notice then the last Letter is K not B, if you follow the rule than all four letters is the first letter of each color then it should be a B and not a K.

The reason is simple, In the printing procces the BlacK ink is the one who as the more details, often than not you can see more details form the black color than form any other (its also the last one to be printed). So the Black ink is also called the Key Color, this is why we put a K rather than a B.

Yes, unless you are using a fairly standard home printer, then you still want to use RGB.

okay, i see you guys are talking about using cymk for printing, but if i was just trying to create different graphics, and not print it out, is there a big difference in what setting i use. i've been using RGB, and it's been fine for me, just wondering if there is a big difference if you're not printing out an image.

If you are not planning on printing your work then RGB is the colour space to choose.

General rule of thumb is that there are a lot more colours possible with RGB then CMYK, less danger of going out of gamut.
