I can figure out layering flames and transparency, but I'm wondering how to do flames in Photoshop 6?

Eye candy has a Fire filter - Eye candy3 is now free too!

This is good for quickie flames - but the best way (as always) is to draw them with the pen tool - airbrush some color, and layer mask them to give variable transparency.
