I think the Eye Candy and the KPT plug ins seem to be the most popular for general plug ins. If there is something specific you need one for then I would list those needs.... But.... Plug ins are great, but you can achieve a lot if you just learn the software =) |

I fail to see the purpose in plug-ins.. unless they provide something that is actually needed for some very special effect. I've had my share of them, when wanting to fool around with "cool effects".. but why would someone actually need them? :| |

I have used one, once - lol, when I couldnt get this 3-d chrome effect for a R&B band's logo. I used my friends computer and made it in like 5 seconds using some chrome plug in on kpt 7 (?I think).... but other than that, all the ones I have seen are kind of generic looking. But it seems like some of the color correcting or photograph ones work well, from what people say.

I think Xenofex & Eye Candy are the best for effects (glow, bevel, chrome...etc). The best plugin for photo enhancement is Extensis Intellihance. It can take a crummy photo and bring out the best of it. (Although Eye Fidelity Tools does a great job removing the moire pattern while still bringing out color & contrast)

After buying Photoshop you still have enough money to buy a plugin? Wow! Learn to use Photoshop first and you may find that you might not even need a plugin.

my name is graphicsguy, and I'm a pluginholic. I see no shame in it. Hell, I don't buy 'em, my company does. so there! *sticks out toungue* EyeCandy and Xenofex are bad ass. If you like plugs, get those first. Then, start checking into AutoFX's Dreamsuite - which gives lovely results, but lacks in user-friendliness, without a doubt. Last but certainly not least is the KPT suite. Newest one is KPT Effects series, which I've only dabbled with, but offers some truly original options - that you can't just "do in photoshop." good luck fellow plugger... (gosh, that sounded bad...) :D |
