this is a pretty newb question, but how do you open a current layer in a photoshop file into a new window so that all the dimensions of the new window will automatically fit tightly around that that layer? is this possible?

*edit* I'm trying to add the new layers into new windows so i can automatically save each layer image as a jpeg. I'm doing this so i can load each image separately in flash and do cool tricks with it. */edit*

Thanks

If that layer is selected in your layers pallet, then you just select the whole thing and go to File --> new
and it should automatically open a new box the size of the selection. Paste - voila....

Command A, Command C, Command N, Enter, Command V....takes about 1.5 seconds.

I do that finger dance 10 times a day...I really ought to create an action for it.

:o)

Can you give an action like that a macro key so all you need to do is hit a key or combo there of? Man that would be cool....

Wow, that is way cool. I guess I am going to have to start noting my most frequently used ascii combos and make a few macros....
