Hey.. I'm using PS 5.5 and I'm currently working on a project where i need to make a cog like graphic... so is there any way i can make the elliptical mark tool make the "teeth" automatically or do i need to draw them myself?

Nope, it just makes circles. You'll have to find another way to do it.

I have an Illustrator tutorial on making gears that you may be able to modify to work in Photoshop to suit your needs.
