i thought about making a giant rectangle and using the pen tool to cut out the curve but i didnt think that would help i need the curve to have a specific width all the way thru and i dont know how to do that exactly with the pen tool |

here's another "underhand" method, if other members have simpler solutions, pls put em in this post so that we can learn frm each other ok? use the rounded rectangle tool and specify the numeric value of the curve u want After u drawn the rectangle, drop guides to help u cut out the width that u want and from there use the eraser tool to clean away the lines that u dun want, leaving only the curves. |

The other purpose for the Pen tool which you haven't discovered yet is the ability to make any sort of lines you want, curving or straight. Just draw out the path you want with the pen tool, then specify a brush width from the Brush tool, and hit the Stroke Path with Brush button in the Paths palette.

Hm... I've always found the pen tool to be a bit unruly, but that's probably because of my lack of skill, and general impatience. Here's a method I've found. Use the circular Marquee tool to get the basic curve, you only need part of the circle to match it. go to Select>Modify>Border And enter the width of the line you need Go back to the marquee tool, and hold down the alt key to take out whatever parts of the circle you don't need Fill with whatever color you want. It might be a little complicated, but it could have it's advantages. Does that help? |
