How do I recolor a picture to tones of red? |

I am trying to do a one color postcard and I have some pictures that I want to recolor in tones of red, I know this is most likely a simple task but I have been sitting at the damn machine for 2 hours now and I can't do it!!!! If anyone can help they will be saving my life!! Thanks Ronan |

2 ways.. goto image>adjust>hue/saturation and then check the colorize box, or stick a new layer over the image, change the layer mode to color, and then fill it with the color of your choice those should work. Snore |

You can also go Image > Mode > Grayscale Image > Mode > Duotone > then from the drop down choose Monotone, Duo, Tri or Quad then click on the color square(s) and choose which color(s) you want the image to be. Tip: In a monotone, duotone, tritone, or quadtone mode, you can only save your image as a .psd, .eps, or .raw file. To get around this and save your image as a .jpg, .gif, .tif or whatever, you can either do "Save for Web" (in PS ver. 5.5 and higher) or go back to: Image > Mode > RGB color and save. |

Solid advice, Pixie... your method also gives you alot more control over the values rendered in the midtone areas. |
