Bent Paper Effect

I am trying to establish a bent paper effect like in this image. Has anyone seen a plugin like this or know of a way to do this?

I suggest you go and download some grunge brushes, and play with them for a while.

maybe get a piece of paper, fold it up real good, scan it, and try to go from there? try some different layer effects and whatnot? it'd take some messing with i'm sure... if that would even work. who knows.

Just a quick thought (I haven't actually tried this).

Try scanning in some wrinkled paper and saving it as a greyscale .PSD then apply the displace filter with the wrinkled paper .PSD as the map for it.

Also try making it into a channel, then filling the folds (darker areas) with white on a new layer and setting it's blending mode to soft light.

Kinda similar to the above post, but more detail.

Waxed paper of some kind might give a nice wrinkle.... and then what DevlKore said - make a map out of it. Sit back after that and drink a nice cool gin martini. extra olives =)
