I'm new to this forum, and i'd like your help on some troubling issue I canme across: Does any1 here have a reliable method for creating GOLD. I don't nean gold text, but (for example) gold sphere, or gold medal? coin? The only way I manage 2 get it is by playing with the Hue/Sat, and it does not work good for the sphere, or other streamlined shapes. HELP PLEASE... BAW |

HSL is where to make it gold but things like spheres need preparation first. They have to have a gradient type fill or a lighting effect applied to even appear to be a sphere..... here is a pretty good tutorial on creating a gold pipe: http://www.stab.se/aq/ny/pstips/interfx/goldpipe.htm you'll see what I mean about the lighting effect. |

1st, thanx 4 the reply. I'm aware of the lighting effects + gaussian blur. But i find it hard to get the real gold "shine"... I get there, but with a lot of T&E and I can never get it to work the same on different objects. I wonder if there is any general technique to get the effect.. :-) |

Well the best method ya can achieve gold effects thru is via the KPT 6 tool. It rocks and if ya learn it well, you'll be able to make your own kind of gold, silver, bronze medal or whatever..........
