Hi All, I don't see many tutorials on Custom Shapes. It seems my "Define Custom Shape" is Never highlighted. I have tried to "Make the Path Work" at 0.5 pixels and it looks horrible. Is there anyway I can transfer my Brushes to Custom Shapes, Also, Anyone have a tutorial on creating Custom Shapes, Thanks... |

A brush is pixel based, and therefore cannot be used as a vector custom shape. You can emulate your brush as a custom shape, by making a path out of it using the pen tool to trace around it, and then defining the shape. I don't suggest ever using the magic wand tool as a method of making a path. It always comes out crappy, no matter what tolerance you leave it at. I suggest manual path creation using the pen tool at all times. |

Yeah. I know its not an easy answer, but it pretty much is the only option Photoshop leaves you with. Once you learn the pen tool, you will love it, trust me. Its great for more than just custom shape creation. And the skill you learn from using it can be applied to vector art programs, like Illustrator, where you will need to know it the most. Pen tool comes in very handy for making selections without worrying about screwing up with the polygonal lasso tool. |

very cool, thanks for the info I have used Illustrator in the past, And that's why I didn't keep using it, Very hard to grasp On the other hand Flash is the easiest that I've come by, But I have no need for a flash site I played with the Pen Tool for a few hours yesterday, And I kelp getting confused on what key strokes do what. Seems I can use Control, ALT, and Shift on all Pen Tools to do various things to certain paths, I'll have to take note on what they all do. That should make it easer to understand. Anyways, I'll keep at it Thanks Again |
