Does anyone know where I can find some tutorials to make cool website designs like the ones in teamphotoshop.com or www.shadowness.com?

Try starting small. Learning html could be a good start.

You have to first decide on a "theme" and then translate that into a design; design is all about communicating an idea visually. You must have an idea about what it is you want to get across to everyone and then base your design and layout on that. Try this: 1. Get a pencil and piece of paper and write down descriptive words that describe the site you intend to build, try to use one word descriptions. 2. Now draw out a target. You know a circle and then a larger circle and so on, until you have three rings, so it looks like a target. 3. Now in the center circle, write the word, based off your descriptions, that describes your idea best. Then in the other two circles write down the descriptive words that compliments your first idea. Now you should have a target with three descriptive words in each circle. 4. Now think about the descriptive words you've chosen and think about what comes to mind, what those words make you think of and base your designs off of that. |

Or throw things at your monitor and try to trace the lines of the cracks. It looks interesting after a while until the screen dies out.

Why not~ :( Designs should come to you anytime, anywhere. It all depends on how imaginative you are. So there really isn't a real or universal way to make designs come to your head, just do what you do and if you come up with something interesting, write it down. Then sometime later just combine your ideas together and boom, maybe you'd make something interesting. |
