Can someone explain to me how to use the stroke path option?

I used the pentool to draw a path, but the stroke path option isn't available

Thanks in advance

...I've noticed that the stroke path isn't the best way of getting a nice and smooth curved line, as it only can stroke with the pencil / brush <-- which both are kind of crappy for that job.

I usually make the curve with a big area, with the curve to be 'stroken' only being one side of the shape.

Then I make a selection out of the shape, and fill. Then move the selection (simply with the arrowKeys, having IE lasso active) a few pixels to one direction, and hitting DEL..thus leaving the 'stroked' line, which now is smooth with only antialiazing instead of jaggy pencil, or blurry brush.

In the paths tab you got 3 little circles at the bottom. It's the second one you need.

dunno paavo, i don't seem to have that problem, what version do you use?

Actually I usually make my paths in photoshop, then port them to illustrator and stroke them there.
