How to seperate writing from backgrround image

ps.......when using the method I mentioned, you'll probably want to zoom in quite close. When you need to move further down the text as you are selecting it with the polygonal marquee, simply hold down the shift key to quickly convert to the "grabber" handle and move your image, then continue selecting with no interuption!
