er...why would the shape change of changing the color?

Well, you;
1. Make a new layer
2. Make a selection of the area you want to "paint"
3. Fill it with the color you want
4. Change the layerMode to "hue"

^ there.

.....or, if the person's got say a shirt with red spots all over, and you want to change the dots ONLY, you could use the eyedropper to pick up the red shade, and the choose Select > ColorRange, and make the smoothness depending on the image. Then either make the new layer thing, as I said before, OR press CTRL+U, and change the Hue from there.

Or you could start a nationwide manhunt for this individual...track them down...go to wal mart and buy the color shirt you want them to wear....force them to put it on and into the trunk of your car...drive to the location of the original photo...and then snap away with your digital camera...

Just an idea.
