Hey i wanna know how to make a plasma effect on photoshop. Like ... those things that come from behind the power puff girls when they fly. it's very bright. i wanna know how to make that effect. if anyone knows how please help.and i don't want that cheesy effect like outer glow or feathering.. i want a good quality sun-bright plasma glow.

make a new layer with a lighter tone of the color, and change the blendingMode to 'dodge'. Copy the layer if you need for more effect.

um.. that doesn't seem to work, i tried filling a selection with red, then on a new layer, filling a smaller selecetion with orange, setting the layer blending mode to 'Color Dodge'. it just looks like the orange layer is hidden. please help me.:(

Oh yeah, I forgot the blur. :p

You might want to make the new layer really bright tho.. ?
Did you try copying the new layer a couple of times?
