creating cut out/ rugged text |

i want to create a extreme logo with a large "X" that looks like someone took a knife and carved it out so it looks kinna rugged on the edges. does anyone know how to create this kind of effect? Thanks.

you can use layer masks and chop into your text. just select your X, click the layer mask icon in your layers palette, and go nuts with black and white brushes, until you get the effect you're looking for. |

I would do this: 1: type the text . 2: render the text layer 3: then mark the text (Crtl+ press the layer of the text) 4: pres Q for (Quick mask) 5: filter pixelate 6: cristal 7: Now you can set, how much you want. 8: press q again (go away from quick mask) 9: no you have the selected mask. 10: revert selection and delete. hope this will help. |
