I want to stroke the outline of something... but I want it to be a dotted line. How do I do that?

Myself, I would figure out what size/shape I needed. Go to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw....or whatever and make it in there. Save it as an .eps file and then use the >File>Place command to introduce it to my photoshop image. but I guess you could stoke it on an empty layer and then mask out the areas that would be the blank areas of the line. hmmm, I'll stop before I spend half the night messin' with dotted lines. |

I have Illustrator, but haven't really learned to use it... how would I do that in Illustrator?

while I'm not very familiar with illustrator it should be very simple, go in illustrator, make your shape. outline it with the ummm, I think its called "paint styles" pallet... then look for something that will give that outline its attributes. Pank or another illustrator user could tell ya in a jiffy. I use Freehand. |

also, I said save it as an .eps.... I think it's actually a .ai when you save it from Illustrator.
