I have been working with PS for a while now, and can hold my own, but someone asked me the other day if I could slice up an image and put it into html from a .psd file. I am sure that it can be done, but can someone point me in the right direction for some tutorials so I can learn how to do this? Thanks for you help. |

hmmm.... You can use the marquee tool to select the part of the image that you like. Then you save it as .jpg once you do that, you can easily but it on HTML . either that.... or I didnt get the question |

I might not be asking the question right. Like I said I have no clue either, but... Something like putting together a seamless web interface |

ohh.... I think Im getting ya Like you want the picture not to have a background.... like for example if you make a smily face.... and its round... but photoshop also copies the color of the square around it? and when you post it on your website.... you see smily and white for example.... Is that what you mean? I wondered how to do this for a long time already.... I will ask this question in a new thread I think you can do that in Adobe illustrator but its poor quality. |

Just use the slice tool and select each area you want to have as a seperate graphic, then just use the Save for web feature and it'll automatically generate the HTML for you.

Cmon where's the detailing  1) Anyhow, first u get your image all worked up in Ps, then u flatten the masterpiece. 2) Click on the button thingy (I don't remember what it looks like) that leads you to ImageReady ( I think that's the name, heh haven't used photoshop in weeks). 3) You should then see your work in imageready, nwo select the slice tool, not the select slice tool. Lol it's like reverse, but I'm serious, select the right one. 4) Now slice that thing up starting with the big pieces, then goin smaller. 5) Now select select slice tool or something like that and go through each slice and modify settings (You do know how to do this right?) 6) go file and save for web and bam ya got your slices and a cool html created all for you that fits it. Here's why I don't do this, cause it sucks and the html is to ghetto and hard for me to edit. So what I do is just slice it up in imageready liek above, but I make my own table in dreamweaver and put pics in one by one by myself. You should too... But your choice. WOW hope this helps :D |

Here's some more "details" 1) Do not flatten your work, ever! I save my projects as .psd's and often! 2) Use Shift+Control+M. 3) Just hit K (if I remember correctly). 4) Huh?? I just slice navigation and where content will go. 5) Umm...I link it using my editor, not ImageReady. I don't see HTML as being "ghetto" or "sucky". |

Knowing a little HTML goes a long way ......i use a cheat sheet ....you may have seen them at the book stores (lamanated tri fold) also for us people that live in rule areas that can only get a 28.8 connection .....slice away!!! so that stuff loads faster! Please......also when you save as jpeg try using Progressive. :D AWolf |
