The basic of this image is a complex circular metallic gradient - off the top of my head I think this is KPT3. This has been duplicated and slighly altered in all the sections and bolts. A lot of the success of this image is really down to the subtlty of the glows, positioning, drop shadows etc. Really down to making good decisions in these areas. |

Actualy it doesn't use KPT 3, he said he used the standard features of Photoshop 6 This is what his E-mail said: Basically it's a custom radial gradient with some hand painting to soften the 'seam' where the gradient begins and ends. Then I made a layer with some noise filter run on it followed by a radial blur. this was dropped in opacity and I probably changed the layer blending mode to multiply. This gave it the "spun metal" metal look. The embossing was done with Photoshop's layer effects. Additional details such as the type and fasteners were created on separate layes with layer effects applied. If you can figure out what he said and translate it into a photoshop tutorial I think we would wall be pleased. |
