WOW I'm 100% a newbie. I used to work in Marketing and design and I learned to use Corel before anything and I just got Photoshop7 and I'm trying to change colors of just the letters on a small permit I have.

Dude, stop laughing I know Corel is the preschool of all of this, I got it. Even the dumbass in Best Buy couldn't stop giggling...

A little help though. Remember I don't know Photoshop from my left nut!

The background is white, the letters are blue. I want the letters to turn green. Upon scanning and zooming in (using Image Ready might I add) I realized not all the pixels are the same shade of blue, in fact some are a slight hue of pink, some a lighter brown and some a pastel blue, so on and so on. I spent about 2 hrs just "selecting" what I sisn't want to change and what I did. Now I'm running around trying to come up with a respectable color change for each pixel in a green shade. I have no idea if this is neccessary. If it is I'll find a different shade, if it's not what can I do?
Let's say it is necessary, can I make all of the light pinks a certain shade of green? and after that can I make all of the shades of brown a different shade of green and so on and so on?

Which ever one you guys advice me on, please don't forget to give me instructions as I have no F-n clue what I am doing.

i'm no master at this sort of thing.
but i would do this:
[note: i am sure there is a much easier way...but i don't know how to do too many things heh]
you could clone stamp over the old text, and just type in whatever new sort of thing you want...

but i'm not sure exactly what you're trying to change, and why you're trying to change it. but it doesn't seem right to try changing a permit...those traffic violations still exist, even if you alter the ticket. (altar/alter??)

nah kid, It's a school parking permit and I was asked by the head of secret police to try and change it so they can see what a fake might look like. I go to school in a very congested city and parking is a parking permit is highly sought after, so much that it has taken over the sale of drugs and alcahol (illegaly) in the dorms.

Just fukin with ya I don't want to pay the price for the new permit cause I'm only there for an hour, I don't live near my school and I'd hate to waist all that cash on a new sticker. So I figured that considering I'm currently paying my $60k in loans to the gov't for a "higher" education that I deserved to teach myslef to use Photoshop once and for all and get a free parking permit as my reward. Just my little slightly rto the right way of saying "fight the system"

I like your idea above, I just have so clue how to do it... explain further please.

Press CTRL+U to bring up the Hue/Saturation window and adjust the Hue and the Saturation sliders accordingly.

Hi, try to work a little bit with channels. Hide one channel or modify it. I'm sure you can obtain the green color there.

Adrian.

I think Hue/Saturation is the most common "tool" to Colorize S.T
