Hi there, I'm not sure if when you say fade to nothing you mean transparency or a neutral colour but here's one way Make a new image with a white background or whatever colour you want your image to fade to Make a new layer and copy the image you want to fade into it then go to the channels palette in your new layer and make a new channel (the button's at the bottom of the channel palette second from the right) Click on your new channel then choose the gradiant tool and make sure you foreground and background colours are default black and white the drag the gradiant tool across your new channel Now go back to your layers pallete and Ctrl + Alt + 4 to load the channel into your image Now copy the image while the channel is loaded then make a new layer and paste and you should see something like you are describing I'm sure you'll hear many suggestions for acheiving this effect but that's photoshop for you Hope it helps anyway Cheers D..... |

Click layer mask, make sure default colors are on, click gradient, drag from left to right, or top to bottom. Done.
