The easy answer..... "nope"

In CorelDraw, Illustrator and Freehand.... there are tools to do tracing.... but in photoshop you have to do it manually.

Freehand has the best tools for tracing, I find Illustrator doesnt trace as well. Adobe Streamline is probably a program you would be interested in.

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but there are 2 easy ways but look very bad in my opinion.

There is the Cutout filter, or you could use Trace bitmap in Flash. If you want black/white you could use Image/adjust/treshold.

Let me tell you they won't give you the desired effect but are a good help to get what you want. If you don't have any other program than photoshop. I use them to get the values I want and then I trace them with the pen tool.

It's just the pen tool in illustrator I think, but for some reason it doesn't work quite as well as the pen tool of photoshop.

To suggest that the pen tool in Illustrator is not a advanced as in Photoshop is laughable. 90% of Illustrator's capability is tied up in paths.

Whats the point of advising someone to use other programmes? Unless you mean d/l trial versions, it would seem a little silly to suggest they purchase a specialised programme for this use.

I meant it works differently, and I can't use it as well as the one of photoshop...
