I was looking on the internet a few days ago and I found this site that had these plug-ins that u could download and they would change the border of your image so it looked scratched or faded and many other things. Does anyone know where I can find something similar to this?

I don't use very many small companies' plug ins, for the most part, they suck. IMO, stick with the big guns like Extensis, Nik, and Alien Skin.

But, if you've got the dough....

Extensis Photo Frame is what you're looking for.

good luck!

If you're smart, you'll learn to make these sort of borders yourself first. There's really not a lot to it. You just need to learn about how 8-bit Alpha masks and transparency works. Then you can create any kind of framing effect that you can think of. If you don't know how know, learning how to do it will teach you a lot about Photoshop in the process...and that's always a good thing.

Then if you find you need them a lot, perhaps investing in a plugin like PhotoFrame will be worth your money, because it'll save you some time.

here. Or so I thought.

My advice: go into quick mask in photoshop (shortcut:Q). Apply filters to your quick mask, then exit out of quick mask (Q again) fill, or delete your selection or invert it and paint on it, etc.

you just might find the effect you wanted. Play around with it - it won't happen right away. (Put it this way: I first used photoshop in 1994. I picked up that technique in about 1999).

have fun!

Go through Pank's tutorials on http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/ps_tut.php ; once you do that you'll find you know what to search for on the internet (key words for photoshop tutorials searches) to learn MORE techniques--ie., the more you learn, the more you know what the questions are!
