Bookmarks Website

Hi guys. I'm working on this website: BestOfWeb .
I would love to hear your oppinion on the look. I know that the idea is not a new one, but still I want to do it.
In case you know a website that deserves to be listed please email me. :rolleyes:

the background is a lil to busy for my eyes.. other then that i like it

the bg is a bit to "blah" as they say, lol

My first thought of the bg was the pattern of my long johns from the 80's :D

I like the site...but there are two things I would change...
Leave the status bar alone!
I hate when I can't see where the links are going...
I can only understand why ppl put them in to pr0n sites coz they don't want to see that you will come right in to a pup up hell...

Second thing.
I would make a form for the contact.
Don't really like when my mail prog jumps up in my face.

But otherwise really nice :D

@ Censured: Your changes explain everything I've done that makes you not that happy with the layout.
For the moment I'm looking for a host. My actual host does not allow PHP, JSP, ASP or other scripting languages. I had the website hosted at a freehost and I did not wanted to show the link because of this reason.

The website is not ready yet. So it shoulb be no problem with the mailing script for the moment. If you guys can help me with links I would realy apreciate it. Thanks again.

What I meant with the status bar is that "Best of web" that you have at the status bar.
And if you don't have a server with PHP support, that like the only way to make a send mail thingy...

i would change the font...other than that, it looks okay.

@Censured: I'm talking about the changes to the status bar and the contact method.

@spilt: The background is there for a reason. As censor said, give the layout a 80's feeling. For the same reason i used verdana as the main font. This is a font that is used in printing most. Back in the 80's they did not had INTERNET. This explains the font thing i guess.

Nice site. But you said you used Verdana as the main font? I can't see verdana one single place?

And please, either remove the status bar thingy, or make a contact page with contact information. I couldn't see that the contact link was directed directly to the adress, which I would have seen in the status bar...
